Artisan Confections Crafted with Care

From single-origin chocolate bars to specialty loose leaf teas, we create ingredient-focused treats in small batches at our North Kelowna workshop. Every product reflects our commitment to quality sourcing, traditional techniques, and transparent craftsmanship.

THE ORIGIN

Where We Began

CanadaShroums was founded in North Kelowna in 2019, born from a simple observation: the confectionery and pantry staples available locally relied too heavily on artificial flavors and obscure ingredient lists. We wanted to create an alternative, a place where chocolate bars, gummies, teas, and herbal softgels could be made with recognizable ingredients and traditional methods.

Our workshop on Rutland Road became the testing ground for recipes that prioritized flavor clarity and ingredient transparency. We started with a handful of dark chocolate bars infused with wild blueberry and elderberry, then expanded into fruit gummies made with real pectin and botanical teas sourced from specialty growers. Each product category grew from the same question: what would this taste like if we made it the way it should be made?

Today, we serve a community of discerning eaters who appreciate knowing exactly what goes into their food. North Kelowna gave us the space to experiment, refine, and build something rooted in craft rather than convenience. We remain a small operation by choice, because scale has never been the goal.

How We Choose Our Ingredients

Sourcing begins with a simple standard: we only work with ingredients we can trace back to their origin. For our chocolate bars, that means single-origin cacao from growers who document their harvest and fermentation practices. For our loose leaf teas, it means direct relationships with farms that can describe terroir, processing method, and varietal with precision.

Our fruit gummies rely on real fruit pectin and natural colorings derived from vegetables and botanicals, never synthetic dyes or flavor compounds. When we select elderberry for our softgels or wild blueberry for our gummies, we verify the botanical source and extraction method before committing to a supplier. It takes longer, but the final product reflects that diligence in both taste and texture.

We revisit our supplier relationships annually, checking for consistency in quality and alignment with our values. Ingredient transparency is not a marketing angle for us. It is the baseline requirement for everything we make and sell under the CanadaShroums name.

The People Making It Happen

Our team is small, intentionally so. There are four of us working out of the Rutland Road location: two confectioners who handle chocolate tempering and gummy production, one tea curator who sources and blends our loose leaf varieties, and one operations lead who manages fulfillment, quality checks, and customer communication. We all know how to do each other's jobs, which keeps production flexible and grounded.

Most days start with a tasting session, evaluating the previous day's batches for texture, flavor balance, and appearance. We take notes, adjust ratios, and document everything in a shared logbook that has become something of a company archive. There is no corporate hierarchy here, just a shared obsession with getting the details right.

When you call our shop at (250) 718-1155, you are speaking to someone who has likely poured chocolate that morning or packed your last order. We answer our own phones, respond to our own emails, and stand behind every product that leaves our workshop. This is not a hobby for us, but it is deeply personal work.
